Aragon

Aragon, Building
Aragon
I saw this building near my group exhibit place in Chicago. When I was painting this picture, a man talked to me and asked if we wanted to see inside. I answered "Yes," of course. After I finished the painting, Hisako and I went in and asked for the man. He happened to be the director of the building and gave us a guided tour himself. The building was used as a dance hall. Now it is a concert hall. There is a gorgeous chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The balcony above has a large antique bar and some tables with chairs. He said that once Al Capone had been the owner of the theater, and he pointed at the table which had been reserved for him near an exit shutter in case of a police raid.
