Angels Nearby

The beautiful cardinals are said to signify a departed soul visiting the loved living. Whilst travelling in Canada I was incredibly blessed to observe these wonderful birds and how solitious the male was to the female. Associated with Christmas and the blood of Christ, the background was laid in with a loose wash of glorious reds and orange which, when dry, suggested the choice and composition of the birds, and petals. A little table salt created the snowy ethereal effect which works beautifully on the sublime Arches 300gsm rough paper.
