Little Joe at Telichpah Creek

The Little Joe meanders through the northern Bitterroot Mountains. Beginning in a wide, high valley scarred by the Big Burn of 1910, it gently meanders before cutting deeper though the mountains to where it joins with the St. Joe River. I take a lot of solo day trips through this area, and sometimes camp to have more time with the river. It's an area rich with history that ignites my imagination. It's a challenge and a joy to endeavor to capture a moment of the experience and share it.
