The urethral glow behind the botanicals was created using many layers of iridescent pan pastels, white very soft pastels and pastels until I achieved the marbly alabaster look. The use of inks, and many layers blending into the background for shadows to give the painting depth. The inspiration came from thinking about how a flower grows and develops everyday.
