Seaside Stroll

We recently moved to Florida and one of our favorite past times is walking on the beach. In addition, I love to photograph the skies in Florida -they are so dramatic! For this particular painting I chose a mostly analogous color palette. It was later in the day and I felt this was the best choice to convey the mood and atmosphere. Some of the techniques/tools used were dry brush and palette knife in the sky and foreground to capture the active clouds and shifting sand.
