Morning Splendor

Painted en plein air during a paint out along Lake Osceola in Florida! I started with a panel toned with transparent oxide red then used a broken color technique for the sky and clouds. I love the vibrations that occur when this technique is used. I feel it really captures the warmth and energy radiating from the sky. In addition, the toned panel peeks through in other areas of the painting namely among the trees and green grass giving it a summery feel.
