The Goldschmidt House
The history of my hometown, San Clemente, CA, began in this house, designed in the early 20's by noted architect Paul Williams. The Goldschmidt Bros. were going to plant a vineyard in those undeveloped lands, but Prohibition stopped their plans, and they sold their 2,000 acres to the founding visionary of San Clemente, Ole Hanson. The home looks today like it did in the 20's, thanks to the current owners, who respect history enough to restore it to its original state.
