Trestles Trail
I set up on the trail leading to one of the most famous surf spots in the world, because it boasts the longest wave-rides on the California coast, due to a cobbled bottom. Watching for rattlesnakes as I set up the legs, I also was watching for the ideal proportions of land and sea--mainly, where to place the horizon. The chaparral I simplified, along with the water's motion. What attracted me to this scene was color and shape.
