Luggie Water

Luggie Water, Landscape
Luggie Water
The Luggie Water is a small burn (or stream) that flows west from Cumbernauld to join the River Kelvin, via which it eventually ends up in the Firth of Clyde. This painting was done atop a bridge over the stream on an unusually bright October afternoon, with the colours of Autumn just beginning to appear on the trees.

It was painted mostly on location, then finished in the studio using photographs, which I converted to black and white to avoid being influence by the inaccurate colour that the camera produces.
