Livermore Vineyard

This watercolor was started and completed on the morning of June 8, 2024. I have recently found doing a small sketch or color study helps me simplify the subject and workout the major shapes. Editing the subject was a valuable lesson learned from the great Joseph Zbukvic during a 2018 watercolor workshop in Girona, Spain. I tend to see every leaf, rock, and blade of grass in the landscape. It's taken years to unsee a lot of it. This watercolor landscape is a bit of a personal breakthrough with regards to layout, technique, and being in the moment. It all came together on this Saturday in June.
