Painting while camping in Namadji National Park, the artist first prepare a rapid underpainting and drawing while the deeply shadowed morning light was slinking across the creek bed, then completed the painting with soft pastels as the day progressed. The deep cool morning shadows were replaced by warm autumn Australian sun as the day progressed.
