The Alps - Les Grand Platieres
"The Alps - Les Grand Platieres" is named after the ski lift which the reference photo was taken, in the French Alps at 2480 meters. It is an oils on canvas, multiple sketch and plein air oil studies were conducted on site during recent ski holiday. It is being done back in the studio, it took a month for completion.

As a Malaysian artist, I long for a connection with a climate different from what I am used to, I dream of snow, just like people from cold places might dream of our warm days.

My paintings consist of the zoomed in mountain peaks, any human presence are intentionally left out to preserve my idealised version of snowy peaks - the ones I have seen growing up from screens.

My aim is to inspire tranquility through my paintings. Ideally, I envision them experienced alongside the harmonious sounds of nature, with a bench allowing viewers to sit and absorb the serene environments I've created.

These pieces invite viewers to look beyond the surface, feel present in the moment, and connect with the world around us.
