Celestial Messengers

Celestial Messenger is the spiritual meaning of the Angel Trumpet flower. When I observed my Angel Trumpet and how it grew, I saw the story of humanity, bursting into existence, from youth to death, from light to darkness, I decided to capture it. Like these flowers, we turn away from light and seem pulled toward darkness, yet we can be filled with light and add to the beauty of this world before we fade away. Like these flowers, some happen to be closer to light, where they flourish, and some, unfortunately, are born and bloom in darkness. I saw myself in one of the flowers, filled with light but about to start fading away. I painted this work en plein air outside of my house and used Golden Ratio to design the composition.
